About the Role
A Fitter is a specialized role onboard, primarily responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components on the ship. Here are the main tasks:
Fabrication and assembly: Constructing and assembling metal parts for various ship systems and structures.
Welding and cutting: Performing welding, cutting, and brazing tasks to repair or fabricate metal components.
Routine maintenance: Inspecting and maintaining metal structures, such as the hull, bulkheads, and piping systems.
Troubleshooting: Identifying and fixing issues with metal structures and ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.
Collaboration: Working closely with engineers and other crew members to ensure repairs and fabrications are done correctly and efficiently.
Requirements
2 years in current position or rank.
Physically fit.
Last embarkation less than one year.
Preferably with US VISA or SCHENGEN VISA
