About the Role
A Bosun (or Boatswain) is a senior crew member responsible for supervising the deck crew and ensuring the maintenance and operation of the ship's deck equipment. Here are the main duties:
Supervising deck crew: Leading and assigning tasks to Able Seamen and Ordinary Seamen.
Maintenance: Overseeing the upkeep of the ship's hull, deck, and superstructure, including cleaning, painting, and repairs.
Operating equipment: Managing the use and maintenance of deck machinery, such as winches, cranes, and lifeboats.
Mooring operations: Coordinating the mooring and anchoring of the vessel.
Safety training: Ensuring the crew is trained in safety procedures and emergency protocols.
Inventory management: Keeping track of supplies and equipment needed for deck operations.
Requirements
2 years in current position or rank.
Physically fit.
Last embarkation less than one year.
Preferably with US VISA or SCHENGEN VISA
