An Ordinary Seaman (OS) is an entry-level position on a ship, and their primary role is to assist the Able Seaman and other deck crew. Here are some typical duties:
General upkeep: Cleaning, painting, and maintaining the ship's deck and equipment.
Assisting with deck operations: Helping with mooring, anchoring, and handling lines.
Watchstanding: Serving as a lookout and performing security rounds to ensure the vessel's safety.
Learning the ropes: Gaining hands-on experience and knowledge to eventually advance to an Able Seaman position.
Assisting with cargo operations: Helping load and unload cargo, ensuring it is properly stowed and secured."
Requirements
2 years in current position or rank.
Physically fit.
Last embarkation less than one year.
Preferably with US VISA or SCHENGEN VISA
